The Story of My Life

I was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, a little town of northern Alabama.

The Story of My Life was written while Helen Keller, then in her early twenties, was a student at Radcliffe College. It is a moving story of the education of a child with the extreme handicap of being deaf and blind. The book begins with a rather vague description of young Helen’s earliest memories, before she became deaf and blind at the age of nineteen months, but most of it narrates her teaching by Anne Sullivan of the Perkins Institute for the Blind.

The Story of My Life is far from the cry for help that it might easily have been. The tone is one of joy. Keller emphasizes her early love of language. She recalls learning to speak before she lost her ability to see or hear and her desperate attempts to reawaken this ability. Throughout the book, there is a strong emphasis on her love of language, especially the written word, which was, after all, one of the few ways she had of relating to the outside world.

The major emphasis of A Story of My Life is on the work of Sullivan, whom Helen always in this book refers to as Teacher. As subsequent writings made clearer, Sullivan’s methods were far from orthodox at the time. She communicated with Helen mostly by use of the manual alphabet, although lip-reading with fingers was also attempted. At the time, oral communication was almost universally stressed among educators of deaf children.

When this book was written, Keller had already published a few articles and was doing well at Radcliffe (she was graduated with honors in 1904). Keller makes it clear that she cannot speak intelligibly, and stresses that she probably never will. In fact, when Keller became a social activist later in life, she made a number of attempts to improve her speech, although her double disability made this difficult. After her graduation, she was regularly accompanied by Sullivan on lecture tours. Sullivan acted as an interpreter as well as an additional speaker on educational methods.

The Story of My Life is a tale of triumph over difficulties that would be insurmountable to most children. Keller went on to become a noted author, speaker, and political activist, advocating human rights for people not only with physical disabilities but also with social problems. Many of her later works were largely autobiographical, but there was always an emphasis on the inherent power of the individual to journey through life with hope. The Story of My Life is the first chapter in such a journey.

The Punisher  Eye For An Eye

Rodrigo Duterte, the controversial former mayor of Davao City, has been sworn in as President of the Philippines in the wake of his landslide victory in May.

Mr Duterte, who was mayor of the city once described as the “Murder capital” of the Philippines, fought the election promising to crack down on government corruption, as well as taking a hard line on crime,including a pledge to reintroduce the death penalty.

Known as “the Punisher” and “Duterte Harry”, the 71-year-old shunned the traditional public inauguration and rally, instead opting to be sworn-in in front of an audience of 600 guests in the Malacanang Palace in Manila.

Only state media were permitted to attend the event, following outrage after Mr Duterte said that “just because you’re a journalist you are not exempted from assassination if you’re a son of a bitch”.

In his inauguration address, Mr Duterte spoke of his desire to curb “the erosion of the people’s trust” as well as restating his pledge that "the fight [on crime] will be relentless and it will be sustained".

Mr Duterte added: "I know that there are those who do not approve of my methods of fighting criminality. They say that my methods are unorthodox and verge on the illegal.The comments came in the wake of bitterly fought election campaign in which Mr Duterte promised a “bloody war” on criminality in a country which despite the economic prosperity presided over by Mr Duterte’s predecessor, President Benigno Aquino, has one of the highest crime rates in the world.

Throughout the election campaign, the former lawyer and state prosecutor attracted considerable controversy through his advocacy for the extrajudicial shooting of drug dealers and other criminals saying: “Please feel free to call us, the police, or do it yourself if you have the gun - you have my support," and that he would award “medals” to anyone who did so.

Mr Duterte also made a number of comments about the role of the church in the devoutly catholic country even calling the Pope a "son of a whore” in the wake of his visit to the country in January of last year.

Mr Duterte has promised far-reaching constitutional reforms and “real change” through his six-year term of office.

In a Sunny day on August 4,2016 at 3:30 pm in DPT Building Place, There was a group of gang that was standing of the back yard of the H3B Room according to the witness to the witness the group of gang was pulling a young man ho was named Berting Isuga alias Titing. They told Berting had a big problem on them after that. Fraining Khaayo was so mad a him he grab Berting and punch and started a fight but the group of  Fraining Khaayu was mad to so they kick and punching Berting until he die and down to the floor . The group was go away and run after the Incident.
